Makeup and Beauty for Everyday Women by Ilse Mercedes.
I'm Ilse (it's German google it), Mercedes is my (real) middle name. It's kinda hood, but I love it. Yoja is Korean for "girl."
I'm 27, brown, and from WA. I have a degree in English & am pursuing a masters in Education. I have been living in Korea for the past 4 years, and I enjoy it very much.
I also love makeup and it's always been a passion of mine. Here you will find makeup/ beauty tips and photos that I found on the internet and from my personal life. I like to help women look better. Looking better=feeling good = confidence=life success, ya dig?
Today I went into a tattoo shop. My friend mentioned to the artist that he looked familiar, and he said “yes, I remember you too… I used to work at (some restaurant*). She asked him if he missed working there & being a chef. His response: “No, (and basically like are you you kidding me?!) I’m an artist!”
So inspired. As I prepare to make a “career switch,” as scary as it is, I must remember what brought me to this conclusion in the first place.
Do what you LOVE & design the life you want.
What is GlamROK? A term we made up which basically means come on over to the designated location, relax, sip wine, meet other ladies in the area, have a full-faced makeover, be pampered, and have your photos done. It’s magical, really. Such a pleasure to work with Daegu Photographer, Antwon Maxwell, a true artist behind the lens.

#instantan used #iman stick foundation in #5 and blended with my liquid foundation. Looks crazy at first ;-)
A primer preps skin before foundation, helping it apply smoother and last longer throughout the day. It can even fill in fine lines and open pores (usually the heavier formulas). Choosing a primer really has to do with your skin type and needs. I’ve recently started using this water-based, oil-free #makeupforever #primer. It’s super lightweight, and adds a natural looking luminosity to the face. This is the “clear” formula, for any skin tone, but there are other color-correcting tones to choose from as well. Use a dime sized amount after daily moisturizer and before foundation. #Shinsegae #makeupforever counter ₩50,000
Washing makeup brushes is essential! Women often report that makeup is causing them to break out, when in fact, it’s the build up of bacteria on never before washed brushes & sponges (yuck!). Cleaning tools regularly also helps makeup apply smoother and more luxuriously. I usually wash my brushes about every three days or so using a mild/ gentle soap (baby soap) or a brush cleaner + warm water. Swirl brushes around the palm of hand until product is rinsed out and squeeze any excess water out of brushes. Lay flat to dry on paper towels or clean cloth overnight.

One of my favorite #korean beauty products, this double-sided eyebrow brush in “brown” by #thefaceshop. I use it to outline, then fill in my brows for perfection! Only ₩2,000
Another one of my favorite #korean beauty products, this black sugar “mask” by #skinfood, a popular beauty shop found in pretty much every shopping area here. Really it’s an #exfoliant for the face, so it should only be used a few times/ week on clean skin (not a cleanser!) I love it because it literally polishes skin, leaving it clean & clear…and it smells good enough to eat! ₩7,000 #skinfood #exfoliator
